Interaction on Best Practices in Oman and Labor Awareness
 

On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the Embassy of Nepal in Oman organized an interaction and labor awareness program on 26 Baisakh 2082 (corresponding to 09 May 2025) at Nepal House, Muscat. The event brought together representatives of the Oman based Nepali community and professionals from various sectors to discuss how the lessons learned in Oman could be implemented in Nepal.

In his welcome address, Ambassador Dornath Aryal extended greetings on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti and highlighted the principles of Lord Gautam Buddha and the teachings we can derive from them.

During the program, presentations were made on how the experiences gained in Oman can be applied in Nepal by Mr. Suwarnaraj Upadhyaya, Airspace Design Specialist at the Civil Aviation Authority of Oman, Mr. Suresh Khadka, President of the Nepali Social Club Oman, Mr. Bikal Jha, ex-President of the Nepali Social Club Oman and a pilot, and Engineers Mr. Tika Dhital and Mr. Khagendra Rijal, both working in Oman.

On this occasion, Ambassador Aryal also launched a new application that allows the generation of six different documents required for institutional demand letter attestation in Oman through a single data entry portal. This will greatly facilitate both the recruiting companies and the Embassy.

Mr. Damodar Gnawali, Labor Attache; at the Nepali Embassy, informed attendees about a special Departure program launched by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman, effective until 31 July 2025, for foreign nationals whose visas have expired. He urged everyone to assist Nepali citizens who are unable to return to Nepal due to visa penalties.

Mr. Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary at the Embassy, provided details about the upcoming Nepal-Oman Friendship Hiking event scheduled for 10 May 2025 and invited everyone present to participate in the Hiking.

The event was attended by 54 individuals, including diplomatic and local staff from the Embassy, representatives of Nepali organizations in Oman, subject matter experts, and social media influencers with large followings. The program was moderated by Labor Attaché Mr. Damodar Gnawali.
